“I would say that, exponentially, it’s (Detroit) allowing my business and my brand to expand beyond what I originally anticipated”
Midtown Detroit is home to numerous art galleries. Its rapid development is attracting businesses that previously called Detroit’s suburbs home. Monica Bowman of the Butchers Daughter is Midtown latest gallery addition. She moved her business, a contemporary art gallery, to Midtown from Ferndale, MI in 2012. She realized that because of her growth she was at a point where she needed to move to a place where she could expand opportunity for the Butchers Daughter and the artists it serves. According to Bowman, the city’s authenticity and art community are attracting the attention of would be buyers and in turn allowing her to “exponentially…. expand beyond what I originally anticipated”.
